Sharon
Festa professional dancer, teacher and choreographer, was born
and raised in Boston, Massachusetts and began her dance training at
Eleanor Rubino’s Academy of Performing Arts.
Sharon continued her dance education by attending Dean
College, in Franklin MA, where she received an AA in
Dance. Upon her graduation from Dean, Sharon studied at the University
of the Arts in Philadelphia, PA where she earned a BFA
in Jazz/Theater Dance.
During
her training, Sharon had the opportunity to study with instructors
from the Alvin Ailey Dance Company, and tap Master Lavaughn
Robinson. During
College, Sharon choreographed and performed in many concerts, as
well as tutoring tap classes. Sharon
is also a graduate of the Dance Teacher’s Training Course
sponsored by the Dance Teacher’s Club of Boston and has received
Gold, Silver, and Bronze awards by the National Medal Test Program.
Sharon’s
performance career has taken her all over the world.
She has worked in many theatres, Atlantic City production
Shows, on cruise ships, and theme parks.
In recent years she traveled to Singapore where she
performed a tour with magician Joe Holiday. She has also performed as well as choreographed for many
corporate events, such as New York Magazine,
Merrill Lynch, and Buick Corporation to name a
few.
Sharon
has taught as well as choreographed in many
studios in the Boston, Philadelphia, and the Southern New Jersey
area.
She teaches a wide range of techniques in all forms of Dance.
Her Choreography has won numerous awards in national competitions,
and was recently seen in the Miss New Jersey
Pageant in Ocean City, New Jersey.
Sharon is currently teaching dance, and the director
of the "Elite Dance Team" at
Dance Forum
South, in Southern New Jersey. |
